20140402 It’s Wednesday already and only a few more days until we start the “Wellness Challenge” and new training cycle. I know some of you are apprehensive in regards to the challenge but isn’t that why we do CrossFit and not dumbell kickbacks at the local global gym? CrossFit should be a challenge but, CrossFit alone will not get you to the next level. At least not by itself. Proper nutrition is key and the challenge is a great way to step you in the direction of a healthier life. Healthier life + CrossFit + Fearghal family = Happy Athletes and Coaches. :-) Skill: Hang cleans 5-5-5-5 @ 50-60% strict form WOD 1 x 800m sprint 2 x 400m sprint 3 x 200m sprint

20140322 This picture reminds me of that feeling you get just prior to the CF Open WOD announcement! lol Today we put 14.4 in the books! Great job everyone. I love the excitement and effort people are putting into these WOD’s. :-) We will have a make up 14.4 on Monday at 3pm. Last CF Open WOD is next Saturday and then Saturday Shenanigans will be back in full effect! Have a great weekend and see you all on Monday!

20140321 WOOHOO! It’s friday and we are looking forward to the weekend! Tomorrow Fearghal CrossFit will be doing Open WOD 14.4! Who’s fired up?!? I know a few of us have been powering up proper with pizza and icecream. Time to drink water and get our heads right for this little gem! :-) What are you doing tonight to get fired up for 14.4???

20140306 Even coaches have pitfalls and the bench press is mine (Coach H speaking here). I’ll skip it any chance I get. Today was not exception. I saw the or/and and chose the “or” option. As I was working on my Push Press I watched Travis struggle to get better at the Bench Press. I realized what I had done and decided today needed to be an “and” day. How glad I was, as I PR’d my bench press!! Moral of the story, don’t cherry pick ;-). Skill: Find your 1RM of Bench Press or/and Push Press WOD 5rds 10 Ring Push Ups 15 Ground to Overhead

20140116 All of us have had difficulties come into our lives, some small, some large and some seemingly gargantuan. Some physical, some emotional and some financial and some encompassing it all. And more will come, such is life ;-). It is the constant reminder from posts, emails and stories from others who are facing their difficulties with resolve, fortitude and hope that I am reminded that it is a choice to allow your difficulties whatever they may be to either knock you down or cause you to fight back and triumph. When you apply this to your time at the gym do not get discouraged by that missed lift or the fact you are slower or weaker than before. Use your “weakend state’ to build a better stronger resolve and a better and stronger ‘core’, a more mobile and stable body. You will come back stronger than ever, both physically and mentally! It was a chilly 36 degrees when at 8am inside the gym so we had to make sure you guys were moving and staying warm. I think we succeeded!! Thanks for making my Friday morning fun!! 20131106 It was a fun filled day at Fearghal CrossFit!! Best Part for Coach H was the 5min ME KB Snatch WOD at the end. We don’t do enough KB workouts (we just need more days in the week, lol) so when we do bring them out they are a reminder of how precise KB work should be. When you hit it spot on it seems so easy but if you are just a 1/4 inch off that KB feels three times as heavy. SOTS 3-3-3 then Hang Power Cleans ot :45 at 80% 4rds, 85% 4rds then 5min ME KB Snatch
